I guess all of us can remember that initial spark that ignited what became a life-long passion or hobby. For myself, my interest in cameras and photography began after picking up a copy of National Geographic's "The Ultimate Field Guide to Photography" (2006 edition) at a local book fair. One summer I read the book from cover to cover. One section that caught my interest in particular describes how photographer Gordon Wiltsie doesn't use digital cameras in extreme Arctic conditions because they can't function properly in such harsh environments and simply shut down. The section had a picture of his camera of choice, the Nikon FM2, which also works without batteries if you can get by without the built-in light meter. Well, the more I read about that camera, the more eager I was to get my hands on one. Next stop, eBay :)! And as they say, the rest is history. That camera started my love affair with all things camera and film...
